El patron mira mesa4/6/2023 ![]() ![]() I would tilt and drip out the oil before you take a bite. Adobado pork– more flavors compared to the other ones, but mine was drenched in oil. I love fish tacos, and $ 1 makes it an even better deal. Fish– if only the fried fish was crispier inside the taco, then it would’ve been my favorite. Lengua– really tender compared to other places I’ve gone to. Even with a restaurant full of people, my order came within 10 minutes of waiting. Definitely a must-try for those who are looking for some decent taco Tuesdays. 09? I’m down! The restaurant is located in the corner of the plaza on the right of Hmart. I usually don’t even like doing reviews on places, specially eateries, but this one forced me to do it… Not only was your front cashier a «B» word in so many ways but if you hate your F*cking job, Quit! Don’t take out your frustrations on other customers because you dealt with a few bad ones! Second, the Health and Sanitation department should do an inspection on your place so that customers do not get sick or even die from food poisoning! This is serious business. So I decided to try this one closer to home, but boy did I make huge mistake. My High School son couldn’t even play sports this 3 day weekend because he was sooo sick! I never had a problem with the El Patron in Scripps/Poway which is where my usual spot is because I work there, but I live in Mira Mesa. Ate the food that night and the next morning, my whole family was throwing up from both ends if you know what I mean!!! I myself had the worst headaches and body aches from «Purging» all that nasty stuff out of our bodies. Anyway, I just ordered the usual stuff for the Fam: 4 Beef Rolled Tacos, Carne Asada Quessadilla, with the toppings on the side, Cali Burrito and 4 Mini Tacos. It seemed pretty slow but the cashier was really rude and I know why this place gets a lot of bad reviews for «Rude Customer Service»… Keep it up and you will loose customers and won’t last too long, I have seen businesses shut down because of that behavior. So I picked up a fairly decent sized order last Friday, before the 3 day MLK weekend and it was during a non-rush hour… between 3 – 3: 30 pm. ![]() It does the job in getting you food in your stomach, but nothing about it really stood out to me. There’s a little bit of spiciness to it for a kick. They also have this chunky red sauce, which was better. It doesn’t really have a strong taste to it, and I already have guac and sour cream on my carne asada fries, so there wasn’t really a need to get it for myself. It basically tastes like avocado and sour cream mixed together into a liquid. ![]() A lot of people seem to like the creamy green sauce. I usually prefer my fries to have more of a crispiness to it, so I wasn’t really a fan of it. The fries were pretty thick that you can taste the mushiness of the potato. I was still pretty full by the end of it, but if you eat a lot, then it might get you on a good level, but not stuffed. They serve it just on one of those regular sized styrofoam disposable plates. When I got it, I think the portion is a little bit smaller than other places. It comes with the usual guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo, but they also add in beans. ![]() I get my usual order: Carne Asada Fries ($ 7. It can also be a bit crowded, especially during peak hours, so watch out for that. Be careful about parking and check for the signs security gives out tickets if you park there for more than 3 hours. This place is located in a shopping plaza, the same one as H Mart and Daiso. I didn’t really find anything special, and the way they make it isn’t really my style. ![]()
